Digital marketing expert Carlo Ople praised Vice Ganda and the entire ‘It’s Showtime’ family for their fearless and creative use of the noontime show’s platform to discuss pressing social issues in a way that resonates with ordinary Filipinos.

In a viral social media post, Ople described the ABS-CBN variety program as “the most socially relevant entertainment show today.”
“I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but Showtime is the most socially relevant entertainment show today. The way Vice Ganda is tackling social issues and making them easy to understand and relevant to the masses is outstanding,” Ople wrote.
He added that seeing artists courageously speak up against injustice and corruption—while continuing to uplift the public—was both “kabog” and inspiring.
“They deserve the support. We need them on the air now more than ever,” he said.
Ople’s remarks came amid ‘It’s Showtime’s’ growing reputation for using entertainment as a medium for empathy and awareness. Vice Ganda, in particular, has been lauded for integrating acts of kindness and civic messages into the show’s emotional and comedic moments—bridging the gap between humor and humanity.
Recently, Vice made headlines after her impromptu visit on the September 25 episode of ‘It’s Showtime’, where she announced that actor Donny Pangilinan had donated ₱300,000 to kariton vendors who joined the program’s ‘Laro-Laro Pick’ segment. Each of the 20 participants received ₱15,000, while the jackpot winner earlier took home ₱150,000.
Vice used the moment to highlight the power of community and compassion in difficult times: “Sa panahon ngayon, parang nahihirapan tayo… Kaya tayu-tayo na lang muna ang magtutulungan,” she said.
She also appealed to viewers and advertisers to continue supporting the segment, explaining that every act of generosity keeps the program’s mission alive.
“Sana tutukan nyo po ito… dahil sa ayaw at sa gusto namin, mahalaga po ang ratings. Sana po matulungan nyo kami para ma-extend namin ang help sa mas marami,” Vice said.
