The Department of Science and Technology–Technology Application and Promotion Institute (DOST-TAPI) is once again inviting the public to join the 4th edition of Gawad Alunig x Dalumat, a creative competition that showcases stories of Filipino inventions and innovations.
This year’s competition focuses on visual storytelling, aiming to amplify local innovations and strengthen connections between Filipino inventors and DOST-TAPI programs. The contest features two categories:
- Gawad Alunig – Short-form commercials highlighting Filipino-made technologies. Entries should creatively promote and inspire community support for local innovations.
- Gawad Dalumat – Photo essays that tell meaningful stories of Filipino ingenuity through powerful images and words, demonstrating deep appreciation and understanding of homegrown innovation.
Who can join?
Participants must form a team of three members, all Filipino citizens currently residing in the Philippines and at least 18 years old at the time of submission. A group may join one or both categories.
Prizes at stake
The Gawad Alunig grand winner will receive ₱75,000, a medal, and a certificate, while the Gawad Dalumat grand winner will take home ₱60,000, along with a medal and certificate.
Cash prizes and certificates will also be awarded to the first and second runners-up, three honorable mentions, and the People’s Choice Award (Gawad Pili ng Bayan) for each category.
DOST-TAPI employees and their relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity are not eligible to join.
The deadline for submission of entries is November 24, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
