Francine Diaz acknowledged feeling the pressure of headlining back-to-back entries in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), following last year’s success of ‘My Future You’ with Seth Fedelin.

This December, the popular love team shifts from romance to horror as they star in the new installment of the iconic franchise ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins’ — marking Francine’s first-ever horror movie.
“Nakaka-pressure po talaga kasi nag-MMFF kami last year, tapos MMFF ulit this December. So ‘yung expectations alam naman namin ‘yon, pero masasabi po namin na kahit ang dami naming ginagawa habang ginagawa ‘yung ‘Shake, Rattle, & Roll’ ay binigay po namin ang lahat namin dito,” Francine said.
Despite juggling film commitments with their ongoing teleserye taping, Francine and Seth remained hands-on with their episode, describing the project as something they made “with love” to show gratitude to Regal Entertainment.
Francine considers joining ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ an early Christmas gift, recalling that she grew up watching the franchise and now feels honored to be part of its latest edition.
Seth Fedelin also expressed appreciation to producers Roselle and Keith Monteverde for fulfilling their promise made last year to include the tandem in the franchise’s new installment.
Even though ‘Evil Origins’ does not fall under the rom-com genre that the duo is often associated with, Seth said they never took the project for granted and worked hard to deliver a compelling horror episode titled “2025.”
He also casually admitted during the pocket press conference that he has real feelings for Francine, adding another layer of anticipation for fans eager to see their tandem in a new genre.
Regal Entertainment’s Keith Monteverde previously shared that ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins’ aims to push the boundaries of Filipino horror while staying true to uniquely Pinoy storytelling — with the hope of bringing audiences back to the cinemas.
‘Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins’ premieres in theaters nationwide on December 25 as part of the 2025 MMFF lineup. (with reports from Lau Balocos)
