Actress Kim Chiu shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she was deeply touched after several people approached her at a grocery and referred to her as a “Cebu representative.”

Kim, who hails from Cebu City, said the individuals spoke to her in Bisaya and asked about the condition of her family following the series of calamities that recently struck the province — including an earthquake, Typhoon Tino, and the subsequent severe flooding brought by Super Typhoon Uwan.
“Randomly on my way to the grocery. People speaking Bisaya to me right away and asking how my family in Cebu, after the earthquake, typhoon/and super flood… a little kindness and them seeing me as a Cebu representative just melts my heart,” she wrote. She also expressed hope that the floods would no longer worsen.
Netizens agreed with the sentiment, with some saying Kim has long been associated with Cebu due to her roots and her visible support for disaster relief efforts in the province.
One user wrote: “You truly represent Cebu, Kimmy. You’re the first person I think of whenever someone mentions Cebu.”
