Actress Kim Molina has spoken up to defend her fiancé, actor Jerald Napoles, after he drew criticism online for accepting a role in Darryl Yap’s upcoming film ‘Ngongo’.

In a lengthy clarification posted via Instagram Stories, Molina addressed messages from followers who said they were “disappointed” with Napoles’ involvement in the project.
“To everyone messaging me on how DISAPPOINTED they are with Jerald Napoles, asking why he said yes to this project, without spoiling anything here are things you should know before passing judgement,” she began.
Molina explained that ‘Ngongo’ is actually a prequel to their 2021 film ‘Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’, which featured viral scenes such as “Mork and Means” and “Mink.” She emphasized that she and Napoles have always been clear about their stance against bullying—on and offline.
“Jerald and I have always been vocal against bullying whether it be online or in person. So to our real fans and followers who fully know our hearts, alam niyong hindi kami tatanggap ng projects that we think would degrade anyone’s well being,” she said.
Although she is not part of the prequel, Molina said she felt compelled to address the issue as Napoles’ future wife.
“This will be the 1st and last time I will be talking about this matter. I am not part of the prequel but as Jerald’s future wife, it is my right to speak up and stand with my husband’s decision on doing this project.”
She acknowledged fans’ concerns about representation and sensitivity.
“I understand your worries and sympathize with all of you who face discrimination everyday. It is not easy and is definitely something that should be tackled with RESPECT at all costs.”
Molina also pointed out that while many films and series have featured stories about persons with disabilities, Ngongo explores a different perspective.
“Marami na ring ibang pelikula at series that represented our brothers and sisters with disabilities but NEVER the story of someone like Ngo.”
According to Molina, she and Napoles discussed the project extensively before he accepted it.
“As Jerald and I discussed about this in private and when he told me about the script, ang masasabi ko lang ay panoorin niyo muna ang buong pelikula pag lumabas na. Panoorin niyo muna not just the teasers and posters, BUONG PELIKULA at storya, para maintindihan niyo sinasabi ko… at maintindihan niyo rin SILA.”
She also refuted claims that Napoles only accepted the film because he was “gipit” or lacking projects.
“Hindi lang ito ang ginagawang pelikula ni Je. Tatlo ang ginagawa niya ngayon sabay sabay until the end of 2025 all to be released next year 2026. Kaya no, hindi totoong gipit at wala na siyang project kaya siya nag yes dito. And mark my word, lahat ng tatlong bagong pelikulang yun, SOLID.”
Napoles later thanked Molina for defending him.
“Maraming salamat. Mahal na mahal kita,” he said.
Ngongo, directed by Darryl Yap, serves as the prequel to the 2021 film ‘Ang Babaeng Walang Pakiramdam’, which starred Molina.
