Showbiz insider and talent manager Ogie Diaz has spoken up about the controversy involving Kapamilya actor Enrique Gil, who is being linked to a 17-year-old content creator allegedly rumored to be his new girlfriend.
In the latest episode of his online show ‘Showbiz Updates,’ Ogie reacted to the issue that has taken social media by storm, advising both parties—especially the minor’s mother and Enrique—to exercise caution and responsibility.
“Dapat talaga pangaralan na lang ang nanay o ialerto na lang si Enrique na 17 years old ito. May mga ganyan naman, ‘di ba? Nagkataon lang na artista si Enrique. ‘Yong iba naman talaga mayro’n din—mga politiko pa nga,” Ogie said.
While Ogie stressed the importance of guidance, he also clarified that the situation shouldn’t be blown out of proportion unless proven true.
“Wala namang problema doon. Basta nirerespeto ni Enrique ‘yong babae. Ni hindi pa nga umaamin ‘yong dalawa kung sila na, ‘di ba? Hayaan natin silang magsalita,” he added.
The veteran host also noted that in relationships with large age gaps, the decision still lies with both parties — and particularly with the woman involved.
“Kahit nga kung may mangyayari o wala, nasa babae ‘yan,” Ogie said.
The controversy began when photos and videos of Enrique with a young woman surfaced on social media, showing them in seemingly affectionate poses — including one where the girl was sitting on the actor’s lap and another where she leaned on his shoulder.
Netizens quickly identified the woman as a 17-year-old content creator. A screenshot allegedly from her mother also circulated online, confirming that her daughter is still a minor.
Further fueling speculation, sharp-eyed followers noticed that Enrique and the girl follow each other on Instagram and TikTok, hinting at a personal connection.
This isn’t the first time Enrique has been romantically linked to someone after his breakup with longtime girlfriend and former love team partner Liza Soberano. Just last September, he was also spotted vacationing in Bohol with former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemate and beauty queen Franki Russell, sparking dating rumors.
As of this writing, Enrique has yet to issue an official statement regarding the latest controversy.
