Adult content creator Salome Salvi is officially stepping into her “singing era” after joining the cast of the musical film ‘Nasaan si Hesus,’ directed by multi-awarded filmmaker Dennis Marasigan.

During the film’s press conference, Salome revealed that the project came as an unexpected opportunity — one she did not want to let pass, especially since it allowed her to revisit a long-set-aside passion.
According to Salome, she had always loved singing since childhood, but other interests such as drawing eventually took priority. When she was offered a role in the movie, she immediately accepted and committed to training for the part.
Director Marasigan shared that he was pleasantly surprised by Salome’s dedication to her role, noting that she even arrived on set with a notebook filled with her own notes and interpretations for the songs and scenes.
‘Nasaan si Hesus’ explores Christian values through music and emotional storytelling. The film is adapted from the long-running stage musical with original songs by Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel, and a script co-created by Pimentel and the late writer-director Nestor U. Torre.
The powerhouse cast includes: Janno Gibbs, Rachel Alejandro, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Geneva Cruz, Marissa Sanchez, Via Antonio, Chloe Jenna and Cecil Paz. The film also introduces Rachel Gabreza and Giani Sarita, with special participation from Bembol Roco and Jerald Napoles.
Produced by Balin Remejus Inc. and Great Media Productions, Inc., the film aims to bring its timeless message to a wider audience beyond the theater stage.
At the film’s special screening, Marasigan shared that the adaptation required years of development, further delayed by the pandemic.
“The film version is going to be very different from the stage version. We have to translate the language from the stage to the film… This is a way to show it to more people — Filipinos here and abroad, even non-Filipinos,” he said.
He added that they are open to sending the film to international festivals should opportunities arise.
Jeffrey Hidalgo, who plays Roger — an adulterous husband — described the film as a reflection of familiar Filipino family struggles. “It’s really about Filipino families… slice of life. It depends on the audience whom they will relate to,” he said.
He added that the film’s title will make viewers reflect deeply: “At the end of the film, mapapatanong ka — nasaan si Hesus sa puso mo?”
With themes centered on faith, family, self-reflection, and the search for inner answers, ‘Nasaan si Hesus?’ hopes to resonate strongly with viewers.
The film opens exclusively in SM Cinemas starting December 3. (with reports from Lau Balocos)
