Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto shocked many after opening up about her strained relationship with her biological family in an interview with Ogie Diaz.
Although widely known to have been raised by the late Mama Bob, her relative who served as her mother figure, Angeline revealed that her personal relationship with her biological mother and siblings has been far from smooth.

Angeline shared that she began giving financial support to her biological mother, Nanay Susan, after they met in 2012.
“Kapag may pera naman ako nagbibigay naman ako kasi nanay kita eh. Kapag may chance nagbibigay ako ng pang-grocery,” she said.
However, things took a painful turn after Mama Bob passed away. According to Angeline, her biological siblings began demanding money from her, something she did not expect during her time of grief. She recalled that even during her COVID-19 illness, her siblings insisted she owed their mother support.
They told her that Nanay Susan was also her mother, pushing Angeline to finally respond to them directly.
Angeline said one incident stood out: one of her siblings publicly appealed for financial help at a restobar.
But what hurt her deeply was when she began receiving threats that her biological mother would give a tell-all interview unless Angeline provided money.
During the same interview, Angeline also confirmed a story long whispered in showbiz circles—that her biological mother had given her up for ₱10,000.
Angeline admitted feeling hurt upon learning this: “Oo naman (nasaktan). Yun lang ba yung halaga ko?”
But she also acknowledged the blessing behind the painful truth, saying she might not be alive today if not for Mama Bob’s intervention.
She revealed that her mother had planned to abort her before Mama Bob intervened.
Angeline personally met her biological mother 15 years ago and heard the story directly from her.
For now, Angeline says her relationship with her biological mother is civil but distant.
