The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has met with the management and production team of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 to discuss complaints raised by viewers over several controversial episodes of the reality show.

In a statement released by the MTRCB, Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto emphasized the strong influence of PBB on young audiences, noting that the actions and interactions of housemates are closely watched and often mirrored by viewers.
Sotto suggested that the production consider drafting a clear Code of Ethics and protective guidelines to safeguard the welfare of housemates—particularly women and minors—given that participants are isolated from their families while inside the Big Brother house.
She also recommended that the show highlight “authentic moments” that demonstrate respect and positive behavior, and turn these into meaningful lessons for viewers.
The PBB production team assured the Board that they actively guide housemates and address issues as they arise. They stressed that disrespect has no place inside Bahay ni Kuya and reiterated their commitment to fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and responsibility.
The meeting followed public backlash over episodes in which some male Celebrity Teen Housemates were criticized for making “green jokes” toward their female co-housemates.
One viewer wrote on Reddit, “Sobrang off ng mga boys ngayon. Wala ba silang mother? Sister? At nakakaya nila mag-green jokes/disrespect sa mga girl? Sobrang nakakadisappoint ganyan na ba ang kabataang Pinoy ngayon?”
The MTRCB said the meeting was held on Thursday, December 18, and was attended by Board Members Eloisa Matias, Atty. Ricardo Salomon Jr., and Atty. Pedro Cesar Gabriel Solidum.
Representing ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ were Production Managers Kim Marquez and Legrand Tulod, legal counsel Bee Santos, and ABS-CBN executives including Producer Oliver Torres, Business Unit Head Marcus Vinuya, and Corporate Counsel Allan Rafael.
The Board did not announce any sanctions but said discussions focused on strengthening safeguards and reinforcing responsible content, especially for a program with a significant youth following.
