Comedian Pokwang publicly apologized on Tuesday after confirming that the driver involved in a viral road altercation in Antipolo City was her brother.

The incident, captured on video and widely circulated online, showed the driver of a white pickup truck allegedly slapping a man who was pushing a kariton with his child after the cart reportedly grazed the vehicle in Barangay San Roque Tulay. The confrontation was later stopped by a bystander.
In a video uploaded to her social media accounts, Pokwang addressed the father, his child, and the public, expressing remorse over her brother’s behavior.
She stressed that she does not condone her brother’s actions and emphasized that family ties should not excuse wrongdoing.
While apologizing, Pokwang also called out netizens and public figures who, she said, went beyond the viral clip by posting photos of her family members and relatives who were present during the incident.
She likewise addressed a politician who commented on the issue online.
Following the incident, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspended the driver’s license of Pokwang’s brother, Carlo Subong, for 90 days and issued a show cause order against him.
