The OPM Artist Making Music That Feels Like a Cinematic Indie Film: John Sam Releases ‘Aminin / Sabihin’

Off The Record and Sony Music Entertainment Philippines proudly present “Aminin / Sabihin,” the newest release from rising singer-songwriter John Sam, a Taguig-bred artist known for crafting songs that feel like scenes from a film you once lived through and never fully forgot.

“Aminin / Sabihin” is an indie alternative track that sits in the quiet crash between unspoken love and missed timing. It follows the story of falling for a friend, where feelings stay hidden because vulnerability feels too risky. Silence becomes the safer choice, honesty comes too late, and the moment the courage finally arrives, the person they love has already slipped out of reach.

It is longing wrapped in melody, a confession that arrives a beat too slow.

John Sam writes songs like conversations you were never ready to have. From Taguig, Philippines, his music blends indie folk warmth with modern pop, carrying the ache of longing, the pull of yearning, and the tenderness of heartbreak turned into melody.

His breakout track “Hunyo ’97” landed on New Music Friday, OPM Rising, and Tatak Pinoy, cementing his place as one of the new voices shaping heartfelt OPM.

For listeners who find comfort in the soft ache of memory, John Sam’s music offers a quiet refuge, turning everyday emotions into something cinematic.
