Speculation is growing that Aiko Melendez and Onemig Bondoc may be developing a closer relationship after the two were recently spotted spending time together in Quezon province.
Melendez shared on Instagram that she has been learning how to surf, with Bondoc present to support her. Their public appearance together prompted netizens to question whether something romantic is already brewing between the actress-politician and the former actor-turned-businessman.
When contacted about the status of his courtship, Bondoc gave a brief response, saying that everything is “okay” and that they are both happy. Observers believe the two are currently still in the courtship stage.
Further fueling speculation was a Facebook post by musician Dong Abay on December 31, where he shared a photo of himself with Melendez and Bondoc taken in Baler, Aurora. The post was captioned, “Yearend with Aiko Melendez and Onemig Bondoc here in Aliya Surf Camp, Baler, Aurora, Philippines.”
The photo drew numerous reactions from netizens, with many commenting that the two looked good together. Some remarks included, “Onemig, sana ikaw na ang forever ni Konsi Aiko,” and “Wow, may namumuo na ata. Sana maging kayo na lang.”
Bondoc had earlier admitted that he once courted Melendez, but that effort did not progress after she failed to show up at their meeting place in Subic. Melendez is currently single after announcing her breakup with her former boyfriend, Zambales first district representative Jay Khonghun, in October 2025.
Last December, talent manager Ogie Diaz confirmed that Bondoc is indeed courting Melendez. In his vlog, Diaz revealed moments from Melendez’s recent 50th birthday celebration, which Bondoc attended.
“Yes, confirmed—Onemig is courting Aiko. Pero ‘pag tinatanong naman si Aiko kung may pag-asang maging sila dahil pareho naman silang single, ngingitian ka lang ng lola mo,” Diaz said.
Bondoc also delivered a birthday message for Melendez, which appeared on her vlog, saying, “After so many years, kahit magkaibang kalye ang nilikuan natin, somehow faith or destiny keeps bringing us back on the same road. Sana pagdating ko sa dulo—aantayin kita, at sana dumating ka na.”
As of this writing, Melendez has yet to publicly comment on the matter. She previously confirmed that she and Khonghun ended their nearly eight-year relationship last October, clarifying that there was no third party involved in their breakup.
