Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards is gearing up for a busy 2026 as he takes on a brand-new challenge—his first-ever role as a medical practitioner in an upcoming Kapuso series titled ‘Code Gray’.
Speaking to members of the entertainment press after his launch as brand ambassador of Specialign Clear Aligners under GAOC, Alden shared that his schedule for the year is already packed with multiple projects across television, streaming, and film.
“Medyo loaded tayo this year with a lot of projects,” Alden said. “I’ll be doing one series with a streaming platform that you will know eventually this first quarter of the year. There’s Code Gray. So, I’m back on primetime.”
In ‘Code Gray’, Alden will portray a surgeon—marking a milestone in his acting career. The actor admitted that the role is something he has long wanted to do.
“This is the first time I’m going to be portraying a medical practitioner, particularly a surgeon. So, this is a medical drama (and) action in a way,” he explained. “Naging engineer na tayo. Naging architect. Naging superhero. Naging lawyer. So, wala tayong has anything to do with the medical field. So, it’s exciting at ‘di ko pa siya nagagawa.”
He added that the role excites him because of its maturity and complexity. “It’s a very mature role, very serious, and I’m excited about the challenges that are up ahead,” he said.
Aside from acting, Alden also confirmed that he will once again host the dance reality competition ‘Stars on the Floor’, which is returning for its second season. With both acting and hosting commitments, he admitted that much of the year is already booked.
“Medyo puno na yung halos half of the year,” Alden shared.
Beyond television, Alden is also set to appear on the big screen in the international film ‘Big Tiger’, where he plays a villain and serves as one of the film’s producers. He will be joined by fellow Kapuso star Max Collins, alongside international actors Byron Mann, Katherine McNamara, and Luke Goss.
The projects come on the heels of Alden’s milestone celebration last December, when he marked his 15th year in showbiz with the concert ‘Moving ForwARd: 15 Years of Alden Richards’ held in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. (with reports from Carlos Aragon)
