Kapuso star and global fashion socialite Heart Evangelista reacted with amusement after a minor personal anecdote—being bitten by a tick—made its way into mainstream news coverage.

During a recent Instagram Live while doing her makeup, Evangelista casually shared that she had been bitten by a tick that came from one of her pet cats. What she did not expect was for the story to be picked up by tabloids and later reported on TV5’s flagship newscast ‘Frontline Pilipinas’ on Thursday evening, January 8.
Evangelista later reposted a screenshot of the segment on her Instagram Stories, which featured showbiz news presenter KaladKaren reporting on the incident.
Reacting humorously, Evangelista wrote, “Wala na ba mabalita!!!! Pati pagkagat ng garapata!!! hahahah,” followed by another caption that read, “What the,” accompanied by laughing emojis.
The post quickly drew mixed reactions online, with many netizens finding humor in how a trivial moment turned into a televised news item. Some commented that “any publicity is still publicity,” while others joked that such incidents are normal for fur parents. A few pet lovers, however, questioned the report, noting that ticks are more commonly associated with dogs than cats.
Evangelista is known to be a devoted pet owner. In 2021, she revealed that she had three cats and five dogs, with her aspin Panda frequently appearing alongside her in social media posts and public outings.
