Beauty queen and actress Michelle Dee revealed that while she may appear single, her heart is no longer available.
In a candid conversation on the podcast ‘Almost Honest’, hosted by fellow beauty queen Kylie Verzosa, Dee opened up about her current relationship status—without naming the person involved.
“I’m taken, too,” Dee said when asked about her dating requirements. She clarified, “I’m technically single, but my heart is taken. If that makes sense.”
The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 titleholder added that things are still in a delicate phase. “We’re not officially together again yet. But definitely off the market emotionally, all of that,” she said, noting that her status could change depending on her next move. “Me being single by the time [the podcast] comes out depends on my next move.”
While Dee chose not to disclose whether she is currently seeing a man or a woman, she used the discussion to address common misconceptions about same-sex relationships, particularly the assumption that women dating women must take on traditionally masculine roles.
“I think that just because you’re into the same gender means you are trying to be a man or masculine,” Dee explained. “I dress very androgynously, but you can be into women and look like Kendall Jenner. Just because you’re into girls doesn’t mean one has to be butch or one has to assume the role of a man.”
She also emphasized that her attraction is rooted in emotional connection rather than gender. “This is just me, my experience, where it’s always been about the sustainability of the emotions. So, it’s never about the gender, but always about the compatibility,” she said. “I can fall out of love with a man; I can fall out of love with a woman.”
Dee rejected the idea that her sexuality is a phase. “I don’t have a standard now. Like, okay, my next one’s going to be a guy or my next one’s going to be a girl,” she said. “So, I can’t really say it’s a phase that I’ll date like five women and then I’m ready for a husband.”
The beauty queen publicly came out as bisexual in 2023, saying at the time, “I’ve identified with that for as long as I can remember. I’m attracted to all forms of beauty, all shapes and sizes,” adding that it was already an “open secret” among her family and friends.
As of this writing, Dee has remained tight-lipped about the identity of the person who has captured her heart, keeping fans guessing while making it clear that she is emotionally committed.
