Former actress Rica Peralejo strongly denied allegations circulating online that she had allegedly stolen church tithes, calling out the accusation as baseless and malicious.

The issue began after a netizen, identified as “Agathon Topacio” on TikTok, insinuated that Peralejo was misusing church funds. The claim prompted Peralejo to respond publicly by sharing a screenshot of the comment on her Threads account on Thursday, January 1.
The TikTok user wrote, “If you steal the tithes, may balik talaga.”
In response, Peralejo did not hold back as she addressed the accusation directly and named the individual in her post.
“Pasikatin ‘to si Agathon Topacio from Tiktok who keeps insinuating I use the money of our church. How can I use it when I have more money from all my years of work till present than my husband and the church?” she wrote.
She added that the accusation appeared to be poorly thought out and driven by a questionable narrative.
“Alam naman natin na hindi lang sya nag-iisip ng magandang narrative kaya hindi sya nakapili ng tamang ibato sa pagkatao ko pero I wanna know why kaya?” Peralejo said.
The former actress also called on fellow Threads users to look into the matter and questioned the motivation behind the repeated accusations against her.
“Threads do your thing. Investigate nga bakit n’ya ko hate,” she wrote in an earlier post.
Peralejo further shared her own theory regarding the issue, hinting that it may stem from personal projection.
“I have theories. One is projection. Yung iniwan namin for that reason ay malapit sa kanya,” she added.
Following her post, several netizens expressed support for Peralejo, with some even suggesting that she consider taking legal action against the individual spreading the accusations.
As of this writing, the TikTok user mentioned in Peralejo’s post has yet to issue a public response.
