Speculation surrounding the real score between Kapuso stars Will Ashley and Mika Salamanca has intensified following statements made by showbiz insider Ogie Diaz in his entertainment vlog Ogie Diaz ‘Showbiz Update’.
In a recent episode, Diaz addressed the ongoing fan debates involving different pairings linked to actress Bianca De Vera, particularly the rivalry between the “WillCa” tandem (Will Ashley and Bianca De Vera) and “DustBia,” referring to Dustin Yu.
“Nakarating lang sa aking kaalaman, at gusto na rin nating itanong sa kanila, kasi nga nag-aaway-away yung WillCa saka ‘yong DustBia… nag-aaway-away ‘yang mga ‘yan,” Diaz said, noting how fan camps even brought their rivalry into block screenings of the MMFF entry Love You So Bad.
The discussion then shifted to the much-talked-about Hong Kong trip involving Ashley and Salamanca, which had earlier fueled romance rumors. Salamanca previously clarified through an official statement that the trip was not exclusive and that Ashley only joined a group of friends.
However, Diaz revealed that a source had shared new information with him.
“Aba, may nakarating lang naman sa akin, at itatanong na rin natin, hindi namin kino-confirm dito, ha, ako mismo bilang si Ogie Diaz hindi ko kino-confirm ito, pero may nakausap lang ako, at biglang sinabi na ‘confirmed’ ‘yong Will Ashley–Mika Salamanca,” he said.
Diaz stressed that the information did not come directly from him, but from someone he considers reliable.
“So hindi natin alam kung gaano ito katotoo, pero ‘yong nag-confirm sa atin, madalas ko nang nakakausap… wala pa siyang sablay. If ever na sasablay siya, dito, first time,” he added.
He further remarked that the situation would need clarification from the parties involved, saying that Ashley and Salamanca were allegedly “playing sweet music together,” a phrase that quickly caught the attention of netizens.
Meanwhile, rumors have also raised questions about the possible impact on Salamanca’s on-screen pairing with Brent Manalo, known to fans as “MikBrent.” Some netizens pointed to Manalo’s recent social media post as a possible reaction to the controversy.
“No words can describe how grateful how I am for every single one of u… People will try to tear u down, lie on your name and lie on your face but never let the kindness inside u die,” Manalo wrote, without directly addressing the issue.
As of this writing, neither Ashley nor Salamanca has released a statement regarding the rumors. Sparkle GMA Artist Center has also yet to comment on the matter.
