Eight years after their critically acclaimed team-up in ‘Meet Me in St. Gallen’, Bela Padilla and Carlo Aquino are reuniting for ‘A Special Memory’, a sweeping romantic drama from Viva Films.

The film is directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng and written by National Artist Ricky Lee, marking a powerhouse collaboration between two of Philippine cinema’s most respected creatives.
‘A Special Memory’ is adapted from the hit Japanese drama series ‘Pure Soul’, a poignant love story that explores memory, loss, and enduring devotion. With Lee’s signature emotional depth and Sineneng’s steady directorial hand, the Filipino adaptation is positioned to deliver a layered, character-driven narrative grounded in intimacy and realism.

Viva Films recently mounted the film’s Grand Media Conference at Gateway Cineplex 18, formally presenting the long-awaited reunion project to the press and industry stakeholders. Martin Nievera is also present as the singer behind the movie’s OST ‘Special Memory’ which he sang before the main Q&A.
For Bela and Carlo, ‘A Special Memory’ represents more than just another romantic pairing. Their 2018 film became a benchmark modern love story for a generation, and expectations are understandably high for this follow-up collaboration.
‘A Special Memory’ opens in cinemas nationwide on March 11, 2026.
As March approaches, all eyes are on whether this reunion can once again capture the kind of cinematic magic that made their first film unforgettable.
