Ellen Adarna pushed back against claims that her former husband Derek Ramsay is a “good provider,” calling the narrative “misleading and unfair.”

The actress took to Instagram Stories to repost a video of herself, Derek, and their daughter Lili. The clip included a voice-over from entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin, who claimed that Derek and his mother provided four house helpers, transferred Ellen to a new home, and gave allowance for their child.
“So secure siya. Wala siyang dapat na idiretso dahil ang alam niya ang diretso ay hindi na dinidiretso pa,” Cristy said in the voice-over.
Ellen directly addressed the claims in her repost.
“What kind of foolishness is this christy vermin? The claims being made are misleading and unfair. Lets set the record straight. Truth matters. Facts matter. And credit should always be given where it is due.”
She went on to detail her side of the financial arrangement regarding their daughter.
“Last month I told his assistant, ‘No sustento, no Lili. That’s simple.’ I am not demanding anything beyond what is fair — but I will not allow a father to live comfortably just cooling his balls while having little to no contribution to his child — because he gets to see her almost everyday.”
According to Ellen, Derek only provided a credit card two weeks ago after she raised the issue. She said the card has a ₱50,000 limit, which she claims covers only 55.80% of their child’s total expenses.
Ellen also disputed claims about household support.
“I paid for my own groceries and they did not provide a house for me. I did that myself. Lets not rewrite history.”
She clarified that she pays for her own staff, which includes five nannies — two assigned to Lili — while Derek allegedly covers the salary of only one nanny.
Ending her statement, Ellen emphasized that being a true provider requires initiative.
“Lets stop being delusional and stop branding someone as a ‘good provider’ when the numbers and reality say otherwise. A real provider doesn’t wait to be called out. He gives willingly. He takes initiative. He doesn’t rely on words, flexing, or public image. That’s it pancit. Period!”
As of writing, Derek Ramsay has yet to issue a public response to Ellen’s statements.
