Actor Jericho Rosales has addressed online speculation that he allegedly snubbed Kim Chiu during his recent guest appearance on It’s Showtime to promote his new film, ‘The Loved One’, opposite Anne Curtis.

The issue surfaced after viewers claimed Rosales appeared to skip Chiu while greeting the hosts on the February 11 episode. Some fans also took notice of his playful response of “wala lang” when Chiu asked what viewers could expect from his reunion movie with Curtis.
In an interview with ABS-CBN reporter MJ Felipe during a block screening in Manila, Rosales denied any intentional slight and expressed confusion over the controversy.
“I don’t really know what happened there. She is the first one I greeted, she said ‘hi’ to me, I don’t know what happened at may ganu’ng balita,” he said.
The actor revealed that he immediately reached out to Chiu after learning about the circulating rumors.
“I went to text her. I said ‘Hi Kim, what’s happening? Why is this happening?’ I don’t know, but are you okay?’ I asked her. ‘Is there something that made you feel uncomfortable?’” Rosales recounted.
According to him, Chiu quickly reassured him that there was no issue.
“She replied to me and said wala naman. All is well and she said ‘congrats sa movie’. I have to check on her. I have no idea,” he added.
During the ‘It’s Showtime’ episode, Rosales was seen greeting the hosts with besos and hugs. In one portion of the stage where Chiu stood alongside male hosts, he gave a respectful bow instead — a moment that sparked online speculation.
Chiu also playfully commented that Rosales’ greeting was “echoing” in the studio, referencing his nickname “Echo,” which he acknowledged on air.
Rosales has been actively promoting ‘The Loved One’ and making surprise appearances in cinemas across Metro Manila. Despite the brief social media stir, both he and Chiu appear to have clarified matters privately, with no lingering tension between them.
