GMA Network’s original dance competition series Stars On The Floor returned with force as its Season 2 pilot episode posted a strong 7.8% rating based on the February 15 overnight NUTAM People ratings from Nielsen Philippines.
The figure placed the show significantly ahead of its competition. Your Face Sounds Familiar recorded a combined 2.7% rating across All TV/A2Z and Kapamilya Channel, while Vibe posted 0.8% on TV5.
The premiere episode kicked off with a high-energy production number led by host Alden Richards alongside the show’s Dance Authority panel composed of Marian Rivera, Coach Jay, and Rayver Cruz.
Viewers quickly took to social media to praise the opening performance.
One netizen wrote: “Ang simple ng steps pero pag si Marian Rivera sumasayaw napaka graceful at sobrang ganda!”
Another commented: “Ang galing ng host galing pang sumayaw nice one Alden.”
Season 2 also introduced its Celebrity Dance Stars: Rocco Nacino, Chanty, Sugar Mercado, and Paul Salas.
Joining them are the P-Pop Dance Stars: Denise of Calista, Jao of Alamat, Jeromy of Hori7on, Joker of 1st.One, and Sophia of Kaia.
Viewers can expect another surprise as one more celebrity dance star will be revealed in the upcoming episode, completing this season’s roster. Stars On The Floor Season 2 airs every Sunday at 7:15 PM on GMA.
