25 years after the release of one of the most beloved OPM ballads of all time, Ice Seguerra reunites with Vicor Music Corporation to begin a new chapter for the timeless song “Pagdating ng Panahon,” with a new version set to be released on all streaming platforms on April 20.
On March 12, Ice Seguerra and producer Liza Diño, CEO of Fire and Ice Music, formally signed a new agreement with Vicor Music Corporation, marking the start of a renewed collaboration surrounding the iconic OPM ballad “Pagdating ng Panahon.” The agreement allows for a new production and release of the beloved song as it celebrates its 25th anniversary, bringing together the original record label and the artist behind the music to reintroduce the classic to today’s streaming audience.
Originally released in the early 2000s, “Pagdating ng Panahon” quickly became one of the most recognizable love songs in Filipino music. With its heartfelt lyrics and emotional delivery, the song resonated with listeners across generations and became a staple at weddings, anniversaries, and milestone moments in people’s lives.
Over the years, it has remained one of Ice Seguerra’s most enduring songs, one that continues to find new meaning for listeners with each passing generation.
Revisiting the song 25 years later is both nostalgic and deeply personal for the singer. Recording the song at the start of the millennium marked an important chapter in the artist’s career, but its lasting cultural impact was something Seguerra could not have predicted.
“Recording ‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ 25 years ago was already special, but I never imagined how deeply it would become part of people’s lives,” Seguerra shared. “Over the years, I’ve heard countless stories of how the song became part of weddings, proposals, and even moments of healing. To revisit it now, with Vicor once again, feels like coming full circle.”
Seguerra also reflected on how time and life experience have shaped the way the song is performed today. After decades of singing it onstage and hearing how audiences continue to connect with it, the emotional depth of the song has evolved. “The meaning of the song changes as you grow,” Seguerra said. “When I first recorded it, I was singing about hope and love in a very youthful way. Now, after everything life has taught me, the emotions feel deeper and more layered. Revisiting it now gives me the chance to honor the song and the people who made it part of their stories.”
The renewed collaboration also highlights the continued partnership between Seguerra and Vicor Music Corporation, the record label behind the song’s original release. By revisiting the track 25 years later, the collaboration aims to preserve the legacy of one of OPM’s most iconic love songs while introducing it to a new generation of listeners discovering it through digital platforms.
Producer Liza Diño, CEO of Fire and Ice Music. emphasized that the project is both a celebration and a continuation of the song’s journey. According to Diño, the decision to revisit the track was rooted in the recognition that the song has become deeply embedded in the emotional lives of many Filipinos. “‘Pagdating ng Panahon’ has become part of the emotional soundtrack of many Filipinos’ lives,” Diño said. “As a producer, it’s rare to work on a piece of music that continues to resonate this deeply across generations.”
For Diño, bringing the song back 25 years later also meant honoring the people and partnerships that helped shape its original success. She noted that reconnecting with Vicor Music Corporation felt like a natural and meaningful step for the project. “Vicor was part of the song’s beginning, and it felt right that they would also be part of this new chapter,” she said. “This collaboration is about honoring the history of the song while also making sure it continues to reach new audiences.”
The new version of “Pagdating ng Panahon” will be released on all major streaming platforms on April 20, inviting longtime fans to revisit the song that has accompanied countless love stories and allowing new listeners to discover a classic that continues to stand the test of time.
For Seguerra, the moment ultimately comes down to gratitude. After more than two decades, the artist remains humbled by how the song continues to live on in the hearts of listeners. “I’m thankful that after 25 years, people are still listening, still singing, and still finding themselves in this song,” Seguerra said. “That’s something I will never take for granted.”
