In celebration of International Taxi Driver Day on March 22, Maxim Rides & Food Delivery shared insights into its growing community of driver-partners across the Philippines. The data highlights key trends and characteristics of the individuals who help keep mobility and delivery services accessible in cities nationwide.

Based on the platform data, the most common first name among driver-partners is Jose, while the most common last name is Dela Cruz. The average age of driver-partners is around 35, reflecting a workforce largely composed of individuals in their most active working years. By age group, about 19% of driver-partners are 19-25 years old, 43% are 26-35, 29% are 36-50, and around 9% are 51 and above.

Motorcycles remain the most common mode of transportation, used by 79.6% of driver-partners due to their efficiency in navigating dense urban traffic. Autos account for 12.3%, while the remaining driver-partners use bicycles and trucks. Among vehicles, the most popular models include the Toyota Vios, Mitsubishi Mirage, Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, and Toyota Innova. Black is the most preferred vehicle color on the platform.

In terms of mobile usage, 76% of driver-partners access the platform through Android devices, while 24% use iOS. During the analyzed period, the number of driver-partners increased by approximately 45.3%, indicating steady market development and growing interest in platform-based mobility and delivery services. Maxim continues to support driver-partners through various initiatives while recognizing their important role in serving communities every day.

Background Information

Maxim service launched in the Philippines in 2020, with Cebu being its first city of operations. Now its services are available to residents and guests of 19 more Philippine cities. In addition to providing delivery services, the service is a licensed Transport Network Company authorized to pre-arrange transportation of passengers by car. In Metro Manila and Cagayan de Oro, the company has been included in a pilot project to transport passengers on motorcycles.

The company develops innovative technologies that make ordering transport and other services more modern, accessible, and safe. The service has created a system that makes it possible to connect an unlimited number of clients and drivers, and process millions of orders. The Maxim app for ordering services and the Taxsee Driver app for fulfilling orders are among the world’s top apps with millions of users.

The company’s goal is to continuously enhance user experience and empower people to reach their destinations safely and efficiently.
