TV host-comedian Vhong Navarro revealed one of the key “rules” followed by the hosts of the long-running noontime program ‘It’s Showtime’, highlighting the strong bond within the group.
Navarro opened up about their dynamic during his guest appearance on the YouTube vlog of Diamond Star Maricel Soriano, where he was asked about the relationship among the show’s hosts.
“Kumusta naman samahan n’yo, anak?” Soriano asked.
In response, Navarro said, “Ang ‘Showtime’ kasi, number one, bawal pikon. Masaya, pamilya kami. Talagang off cam kahit sa bahay lang, sa GC (group chat) namin, makukulit pa rin.
“Walang kupas. ‘Yung kamustuhan hindi natatapos, ‘yung kulitan pati sa messages sa GC nandoon pa rin. Hindi nawawala,” he added.
According to Navarro, their familiarity with one another plays a crucial role in maintaining their camaraderie.
“Saka kasi kilala n’yo na ‘yong isa’t isa. So kabisado n’yo na ‘yong bawat isa. So alam n’yo na hanggang saan,” he explained.
‘It’s Showtime’, which first aired on ABS-CBN in October 2009, has now been on air for 16 years and continues to be broadcast on GMA Network.
Navarro, one of the show’s original hosts, has worked alongside Vice Ganda, Kim Atienza, Jugs Jugueta, Anne Curtis, and Teddy Corpuz since its early days.
He also shared that among his co-hosts, Jhong Hilario is the one he is closest to.
