Too hot for cake? Sicilian Roast has a Frozen Tiramisu Bar for summer

Sicilian Roast is turning one of its best-selling desserts into something you can eat cold this summer. The Frozen Tiramisu Bar is exactly what it sounds like: layers of espresso-soaked cream and mascarpone, coated in cocoa, frozen into a bar you can pick up and bite into.

It’s not something you usually see on a restaurant menu. Tiramisu is almost always served in a cup or sliced from a tray. Freezing it and making it work as a handheld bar is a different problem entirely.

“We went through a lot of versions before this one stuck,” says Executive Chef Matt Navarro. “Mascarpone and cocoa hold up fine cold, but espresso gets muted fast once you freeze it. Getting that coffee bitterness to cut through the sweetness at a lower temperature took some figuring out.”

The result is a dessert that’s rich enough to feel like a proper tiramisu but cold and light enough that it works after a heavy meal in the middle of April. It sits alongside a summer-friendly menu that already includes dishes like the Frutti di Mare, a squid ink pasta with seafood in shrimp bisque, and the Parmesan Truffle Chips with real shaved truffle.

“Tiramisu has always been one of our best sellers, so it made sense to start there,” says CEO Lorenzo Vega. “We wanted to do something with it that nobody else has really done. A version you can eat with your hands, that still tastes like the real thing.”

The Frozen Tiramisu Bar will be available from April 25 to May 31, 2026, at Sicilian Roast branches in Legazpi Village, Makati; Santolan Town Plaza by Rockwell, San Juan; The Arton Strip by Rockwell, Quezon City; and Molito Lifestyle Center, Alabang. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner service.
