Celebrity doctor Manny Calayan addressed a resurfaced controversial remark made by Vicki Belo during a 2009 episode of ‘Showbiz Central’.
At the time, Belo made a statement comparing their clinics while promoting her business.
“If you want to look like Boy Abunda, then go to Calayan. But if you like to look like Dingdong Dantes and Piolo Pascual, come to Belo,” she said.
In a recent episode of ‘Kay Susan Tayo!’ Vlogs, Calayan was asked to react to the remark, which has resurfaced online.
“Naku, si Boy ang nagalit. Sabi ko, loko-loko ‘yan si Vicki. Inano tayo sa ‘Showbiz Central.’ Ganyan daw, ganyan. Talaga? Samantalang sa akin galing si Dingdong Dantes before. No’ng nahulma ko na, kinuha na niya,” Calayan said.
Despite the controversy, Calayan revealed that the incident did not negatively impact his practice.
“Lumakas lalo. Alam mo naman, ang mga tao ‘di ba? Boy Abunda is Boy Abunda. Very credible ‘yan,” he added.
He also shared that while he had a chance to call out Belo’s husband, Hayden Kho, he holds no ill feelings toward Belo.
