The WilBea love team is officially making its way to the big screen.

During Viva One’s ‘The Next Fan Take Over’ event held last night, it was announced that Wilbert Ross and Bea Binene will lead the Philippine adaptation of the hit Thai horror-comedy film ‘Pee Mak’.
The story follows Mak, a soldier who returns home from war and reunites with his wife Nak. However, his four companions begin to notice something strange as the village lives in fear of a ghost—rumored to be none other than Nak herself. The film is based on Thai folklore and blends horror, comedy, and romance.
The original Pee Mak starred Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, and remains one of the highest-grossing films of all time in Thailand. Its massive box-office success further solidified Maurer’s superstar status.
Wilbert Ross and Bea Binene’s casting comes at a time when their pairing—collectively known as ‘WilBea’—is gaining strong traction following the success of their Viva One series ‘Golden Scenery of Tomorrow’. The teen romantic comedy series, based on a Wattpad story by Filipino author Gwy Saludes, premiered on October 18, 2025.
Prior to this announcement, there were earlier reports in 2025 that Alden Richards and Julia Barretto were being considered to star in the Philippine adaptation of ‘Pee Mak’. However, no further updates followed until this latest confirmation involving WilBea.
As of writing, no additional details—including release date, director, or full cast—have been revealed.
