Rabiya Mateo appears to be embracing a new chapter in her life as she prepares to enter medical school — with rumored boyfriend Jake Cuenca by her side for support.
The former Miss Universe Philippines 2020 titleholder recently shared photos from their trip to Hong Kong Disneyland, where the pair enjoyed romantic moments together before Rabiya begins her studies.
In her Instagram caption, Rabiya hinted at her upcoming academic journey.
“Few more gala before medschool. @juancarloscuenca thank you for this trip,” she wrote.
The post featured several sweet moments between the rumored couple, including photos of Jake carrying Rabiya on his back, a selfie where the actor kissed her cheek, and snapshots of them posing in matching denim outfits in front of Disneyland’s iconic castle.
The actress-beauty queen later confirmed her medical school plans after actress Carla Abellana reacted in the comments section.
“Yes Carla. I just got accepted in UST,” Rabiya replied.
The confirmation fueled excitement among fans, especially since becoming a doctor has long been one of Rabiya’s dreams.
Before entering showbiz and pageantry, Rabiya graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Iloilo Doctors’ College in 2018.
In an earlier interview, she shared her long-standing aspiration to pursue medicine.
“It’s a calling and I’m so happy to share this to everybody that I’m gonna go back to med school,” she previously said. “And I [have] wanted to become a doctor ever since.”
Rabiya is expected to study at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, one of the country’s oldest and most prestigious medical institutions.
Meanwhile, Jake also expressed his admiration and support for Rabiya’s achievement.
“The best day ever! Congratulations im so proud of the incredible woman that you are,” the actor commented on her post.
Rabiya responded warmly, writing: “Thank you for being supportive of my dreams I’m so proud of you too.”
The pair first sparked dating rumors earlier this year after being spotted together multiple times in Taguig and Makati.
Jake previously confirmed they were exclusively dating, although the two have yet to formally define the exact status of their relationship publicly. As of now, it also remains unclear whether Rabiya will temporarily step back from showbiz to focus on her medical studies, which are known to require full-time dedication and attention.
