Rita Avila says Leni Robredo should skip 2028 presidential race

Rita Avila shared her thoughts about the possibility of Leni Robredo running again for president in the 2028 elections, saying she hopes the former vice president would no longer return to the national race.

The actress, who has long been identified as a Kakampink supporter, expressed her sentiments through a Facebook post amid renewed calls from supporters urging Robredo to challenge the anticipated presidential bid of Sara Duterte.

According to Rita Avila, Robredo has already proven her dedication, intelligence, and compassion as a public servant and no longer needs to prove herself to the Filipino people.

Wala na siyang papatunayan pa,” she added.

The actress also expressed disappointment toward some Filipino voters whom she believes continue to reject competent leadership.

She further remarked that if the country continues to decline because of poor leadership choices, some people may eventually realize their mistakes too late.

Ginusto n’yo ‘yan eh,” Rita continued.

Leni Robredo previously ran for president in the 2022 elections but lost to Ferdinand Marcos Jr.. She now serves as mayor of Naga City.

Despite persistent calls from supporters for another presidential run in 2028, Robredo has earlier stated that she has no plans to seek the presidency again and is currently focused on her responsibilities as mayor.
