Kapuso actor Royce Cabrera took to social media to share an unfortunate experience after becoming the victim of theft during the recently held Sparkle Run 2026 in Manila.

In a Facebook post on May 30, Royce revealed that his bag was stolen while he was participating in the event. According to the actor, only his belongings were taken despite being left alongside the bags of his companions.
“I never thought this would happen to me, but I experienced it. My bag was stolen during our event,” Royce shared.
The actor admitted that he had become complacent because he believed their belongings were safe while they were busy with the event.
“Just a few minutes of being occupied was enough for someone to steal my things. But one thing is certain—this was not an accident because out of everything that could have gone missing, only my belongings were specifically taken,” he said.
Fortunately, Royce was able to track the stolen bag because his AirPods were inside it. Using the device’s location feature, he discovered that the bag had been moved from Quirino Grandstand to Circuit Makati.
“Buti nalang at nasa bag ang AirPods ko kaya mabilis ko agad na-track ang kinaroroonan nito. From Quirino Grandstand napunta ng Circuit Makati,” he recounted.
With the assistance of two police officers and an event marshal, Royce immediately went to the location indicated by the tracker. After several rounds of searching, they nearly gave up hope.
“Palabas na kami ng mall nang bigla nalang namin nakita ang bag ko sa poste kung saan malapit na nakapark ang mobile. Nakalapag at bukas lahat ng zipper,” he said.
Although the bag was eventually recovered, several personal items were missing, including his car keys, sweat-soaked clothes and towel, his 5K run finisher medal, and his AirPods case.
According to Royce, what troubled him most was not the value of the stolen items but the specific things that were chosen.
“Hindi ko maalis ang hindi mabahala sa mga bagay na pinili mong kunin. Hindi dahil sa halaga ng mga ito, kundi dahil nakakapagtaka kung bakit iyon mismo ang mga naging target mong kunin,” he wrote.
The actor added that he intends to pursue the matter further by filing a police report and requesting CCTV footage from the area as part of the investigation.
“Hindi ko alam kung ano talaga ang pakay mo pero kung sino ka man, sana tigilan mo na ang ganyang modus,” Royce said.
Despite the incident, Royce expressed gratitude to the people who helped him recover his belongings, particularly officers from Manila Police Station 5 and one of the event marshals.
“Gusto ko naman magpasalamat sa mga masigasig na pulis ng Station 5, sina PAT Lisbo at PAT Endaya, at sa isa sa mga marshal ng event na si Kuya Jun sa pagsama sa akin sa paghahanap. Sobrang appreciated ko ang time and effort ninyo,” he said.
Royce was among the participants of Sparkle Run 2026, a fun run organized by Sparkle GMA Artist Center that traversed several iconic locations in Manila, including Quirino Grandstand, Roxas Boulevard, Rizal Park, Intramuros, Jones Bridge, and Binondo.
The actor reminded the public to remain vigilant and take extra precautions when attending large-scale events.
“Stay safe, everyone. God bless!” he concluded.
