Who would have thought that award-winning comedian Roderick Paulate is also an avid follower of the online selling sessions of D’ Maddox Jewelry Founder and President Charo Cordial?
The veteran actor personally visited the Maddox Jewelry showroom, where he was warmly welcomed by Cordial.
One of the highlights of their meeting was a diamond-studded bracelet that Paulate brought for evaluation. According to the actor, he purchased the piece years ago for around ₱2.9 million to ₱3 million. Even before the bracelet underwent testing, Cordial estimated that its value could now be around ₱5 million.
Known for asking celebrities candid and sometimes surprising questions on her vlog, Cordial did not miss the opportunity to ask Paulate if he still has plans of getting married.
At 66, the actor remains single, but admitted that he still thinks about having a partner in life.
“Malay mo naman… malay mo naman may magkagusto pa. Welcome! ‘Di ba, may kinuwento ako sa’yo? Minsan naiisip mo rin na gusto mong may asawa, may mamahalin, may kasama, may nagtatanong sa’yo kung okay ka ba.
“Kasi minsan, kapag masyado ka nang busy at palaging strong sa buhay, nakakalimutan na ng tao na tanungin ka kung okay ka lang ba. Ang tingin nila sa’yo, Superman ka — hindi nasasaktan. Pero gano’n talaga ang buhay. Ayoko namang magpakita na kawawa ako. Nandiyan ang Diyos, Siya ang kakampi mo. Hindi ka dapat humina,” emosyonal na pahayag ni Paulate.
The veteran comedian also shared his admiration for Cordial, saying her humility despite her success is something he appreciates.
“Gusto ko ‘yung gano’n, ‘yung nagsumikap pero simple pa rin.”
Not one to be outdone, Paulate jokingly threw a question back at Cordial.
“Bakit mura ka?”
The comedian was referring to Maddox Jewelry’s reputation for offering affordable yet authentic and high-quality jewelry.
“’Yun po ang dinadayo nila sa amin, super mura. You know, we also have P6,998 diamond,” Cordial replied.
She explained that growing up in hardship inspired her to keep her products accessible to more people.
“Ang purpose ko kasi hindi lang basta kumita. Kung pera lang ang iisipin ko, tataasan ko ang presyo. Pero bakit ko gagawin ‘yon kung hindi naman ako magiging masaya?”
Paulate even compared Cordial to one of his Chinese businessman friends because of her talent in business.
