Rumors continue to circulate about a possible renewed collaboration between ABS-CBN and TV5, with the upcoming action-drama series ‘Sigabo’ reportedly playing a key role in the discussions.

Industry sources claim that talks are underway regarding the airing of selected ABS-CBN programs on TV5 once again, potentially marking a new chapter in the relationship between the two networks after the expiration of their previous content supply agreement earlier this year.
While neither network has officially confirmed specific programming arrangements, questions have emerged regarding how TV5’s schedule could accommodate ABS-CBN-produced shows such as ‘Sigabo’, ‘Blood vs Duty’, and ‘The Alibi’.
Observers have speculated whether current TV5 primetime programs, including ‘My Bespren Emman’ and ‘A Secret in Prague’, could undergo timeslot adjustments should the new programming lineup push through. Others believe that ‘Sigabo’ may initially be the only ABS-CBN series to air on the Kapatid Network.
Fueling further speculation were reports of a recent meeting involving TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero, Star Worx head Johnny Manahan, and ABS-CBN Music executives Roxy Liquigan and Jonathan Manalo.
The meeting has sparked discussions about a possible collaboration between Star Worx and ABS-CBN Music, potentially involving recording projects or music-related opportunities for Star Worx talents.
Industry insiders note that Zaballero has maintained a positive working relationship with ABS-CBN executives and has attended several Kapamilya events in recent months, further fueling speculation about strengthened ties between the two media companies.

At the center of the rumors is ‘Sigabo’, the highly anticipated action-drama series starring real-life couple Coco Martin and Julia Montes.
Scheduled to premiere on June 22, 2026, Sigabo serves as Martin’s follow-up project after the successful run of the action-drama series ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’, which aired from February 2023 to March 2026 on ABS-CBN platforms and TV5.
The airing of ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ on TV5 ended in January 2026 following issues surrounding the networks’ content supply agreement. However, reports suggest that negotiations are ongoing regarding the possibility of bringing ‘Sigabo’ to the Kapatid Network.
Should an agreement be finalized, some reports indicate that one of TV5’s existing primetime programs could be moved to an earlier timeslot to make room for the new series.
Adding to the speculation is the involvement of CCM Film Productions, Martin’s production company, as one of the producers of ‘Sigabo’. Given Martin’s longstanding relationship with TV5, many industry observers believe there is a strong possibility that the series could eventually find a home on the Kapatid Network.
For now, both networks have yet to make an official announcement regarding the show’s television placement, leaving viewers to wait for further developments ahead of ‘Sigabo’s’ June 22 premiere.
