Beyond the ratings competition, the launch of Coco Martin’s ‘Sigabo’ represents a major shift in the Philippine television landscape—one defined less by rivalry and more by collaboration.

The action-drama currently airs simultaneously on Kapamilya Channel, ALLTV, A2Z, and TV5, a setup that would have been nearly impossible to imagine years ago when networks fiercely guarded exclusive content.
During a recent gathering attended by executives and employees from participating networks, Coco Martin emphasized the importance of unity among media companies.
“Nagsama-sama, nagtulong-tulong. Ang ibig sabihin nito, isinisigaw natin sa buong Pilipinas na dapat magtulong-tulong tayo at magsuportahan para dito sa ‘Sigabo’,” he said.
The collaboration comes at a time when viewing habits have dramatically changed. Filipino audiences now divide their attention among traditional television, streaming services, social media platforms, and online video content.
As global streaming giants continue to compete for audience attention, local broadcasters have increasingly embraced partnerships to maximize the reach of Filipino-produced content.
The cooperative approach extends beyond ‘Sigabo’. Beginning next week, TV5’s ‘Face to Face with Ate Koring’ will also air on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and ALLTV.
Industry observers believe these partnerships benefit not only networks but also viewers, who gain easier access to local programs across multiple platforms.
