The search for the entertainment industry’s next breakout stars has officially begun as Viva’s Next Big Star premieres exclusively on Viva One, with new episodes streaming every Friday.
Designed as Viva’s biggest talent search of the year, the reality competition aims to discover aspiring performers with the talent, passion, personality, and determination to become the next generation of stars on television, film, and even the international stage.
Throughout the competition, contestants will be evaluated not only for their looks and performing abilities but also for their work ethic, attitude, and commitment to their craft.
Guiding the aspiring stars are some of the Philippine entertainment industry’s most respected creatives.
Leading the panel is multi-award-winning filmmaker, screenwriter, and producer Jason Paul Laxamana, known for acclaimed films including 100 Tula Para Kay Stella, Just a Stranger, and other hit romantic dramas.
Joining him is veteran director Mac Alejandre, whose extensive body of work includes the romantic comedy Let the Love Begin and the fantasy epic Ang Panday.
Completing the panel is award-winning actress Cristine Reyes, who brings her experience as one of the country’s most recognizable leading ladies to mentor the contestants throughout the competition.
Directed by Ryan Evangelista, the series follows each contestant’s journey—from auditions and workshops to performances and behind-the-scenes moments—as they work toward earning the title of Viva’s next major star.
