GMA Network premiered its latest afternoon teen drama “You’re My Favorite Song (YMFS)” starring PBB alumni Caprice Cayetano and Heath Hornales, how did it perform in the ratings game?
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM survey, YMFS earned a 3.7 percent rating on its pilot episode on Monday, June 22. While modest compared to primetime shows, the drama still managed to break into the Top 10 overall programs for the day, outperforming rival ‘Kapamilya Gold Hits,’ which only registered 0.4 percent.
The pilot episode introduced viewers to Angel (Caprice Cayetano), a devoted granddaughter determined to fulfill her Lolo Xavi’s dream of building a beach resort after learning of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer diagnosis. Opposite her is Miguel (Heath Hornales), the charismatic lead vocalist of the popular band Siklab, who moonlights as a street busker disguised in a bear mascot. Their accidental encounter during one of Miguel’s performances sparks instant chemistry, inspiring him to write songs for Angel.
Meanwhile, aside from YMFS, other Kapuso afternoon drama also ruled their respective timeslots easily beating rival programs.
Born To Shine led with 4.9 percent against the re-run of “Can’t Buy Me Love” at 0.5 percent, while Anton Vinzon’s action drama ‘Kamao’ scored 4.7 percent, easily beating High Street, which only managed 0.4 percent.
Although afternoon ratings remain lower compared to the peak years of daytime dramas, GMA maintains its dominance in the block, bolstered by fresh offerings like YMFS and the absence of strong competition.
