Anne Curtis remains proud of her Filipino roots despite ongoing discussions about mixed-race representation in Philippine entertainment.
Speaking during her Thanksgiving press conference, the actress addressed the recent conversations surrounding “half-Filipino” celebrities and representation.
“Everyone has their own opinion, but I will always be proud to be Filipino,” Curtis said.
“I’m proud of being a halfie, but I’m also proud of my Filipino roots. This is my home, this is where I choose to be.”
The actress recently earned a nomination in the Outstanding Asian Star category at the 2026 Seoul International Drama Awards, adding another international recognition to her long-running career.
“Whenever I’m on a global stage, I represent the Philippines,” she emphasized.
Despite the honor, Curtis admitted she was surprised and grateful to be nominated.
“OMG, I’m just so kilig about it. I never imagined I’d be nominated at all. But thank you. I’m just so happy, so grateful to even be nominated.”
For Curtis, representing the country internationally remains one of the greatest privileges of her career, nearly three decades after entering the entertainment industry.
