Television host Joey de Leon drew laughs from the audience after playfully teasing fellow Eat Bulaga host Ryzza Mae Dizon about the recent social media controversy involving Kim Chiu.

The lighthearted exchange came shortly after Vic Sotto confirmed Vice Ganda’s invitation for the two comedy icons to meet in person on Sunday, July 5, at around 4:00 p.m. in Cubao.
During the latest episode of Eat Bulaga, Vic responded to Vice’s invitation by saying: “3:59 nandoon na ako.”
Following Vic’s remark, Joey turned to Ryzza with a playful question.
“Si Ryzza… kailan kayo mag-uusap ni Kim Chiu?”
Instead of answering, Ryzza simply laughed and waved at the audience, prompting more laughter from those in the studio.
Joey’s joke referenced the recent online discussion involving Kim Chiu after a remark she made during a segment on ‘It’s Showtime’ drew criticism from some netizens.
The controversy stemmed from a joke in which Kim reacted to a spooky character’s appearance by saying, “Ay! Bakit si Ryzza Mae?” Some social media users criticized the comment, calling it insensitive and urging the actress to issue a public apology, while others defended Kim and described the remark as harmless banter.
As of writing, neither Kim Chiu nor Ryzza Mae Dizon has directly addressed the issue publicly.
Meanwhile, the exchange between Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto has generated excitement among fans after the two television icons openly invited each other to meet on-air, fueling speculation that a collaboration—possibly related to the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF)—could be in the works.
