Kapuso actress Kyline Alcantara has broken her silence on rumors linking her romantically to businessman Sam Verzosa, saying she was surprised by the speculation and could only laugh at how quickly people jumped to conclusions.
During her guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, Kyline said she first learned about the rumors through social media.
“Siyempre po. Nakikita ko siya sa social media. Nagulat po ako,” she shared.
According to the actress, she and Sam have already discussed the issue and both found the rumors amusing.
“Katulad nga ng sinabi ni Sam, napag-usapan na namin ‘yon, ‘yung kung ano ang nangyayari sa social media. And natawa na lang din po ako. Kasi bakit gano’n?”
Kyline pointed out that people often assume two individuals are dating simply because they are seen together.
“Para sa akin po, ‘yung mga tao talaga, porke’t may nakita silang kasama, whether mapababae o lalaki, they assume immediately that they are together na.”
The actress also clarified that she did not attend the dinner gathering as Sam’s guest.
Instead, she explained that she was invited by celebrity doctors Aivee Teo and Z Teo, who organized the event.
“May dinner event po siya and ininvite ako nila Doc Aivee and Doc Z Teo to be there. So it wasn’t really actually him who invited me. It was Doc Z and Doc Aivee who invited me, so I’m just their plus one.”
Kyline also emphasized that she remains on good terms with both Sam and his former partner, actress Rhian Ramos, making the rumors even more surprising to her.
“I’m super OK with Ate Rhian Ramos. I’m super OK with Sam. So nagulat lang din naman po ako.”
The dating speculation first surfaced after Kyline and Sam were spotted at the same dinner event.
However, Sam had already denied the rumors during his own guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ in June, saying they are simply friends.
“Manila’s so small. There are certain events. May picture lang diyan, social media, they will speculate. It’s very unfair for them,” Sam said.
He also revealed that he personally apologized to Kyline after seeing the online rumors.
“Sabi ko, ‘I’m sorry Ky ah.’ Sabi niya, ‘Hindi, wala ‘yun.’ Mabuting tao si Kyline and it’s very unfair for her.”
Sam was previously in a relationship with Rhian Ramos, who confirmed their breakup earlier this year.
Meanwhile, Kyline also admitted during the interview that she is not yet ready to enter a new relationship, saying she is currently focused on herself following her previous breakup.
