Content creator Macoy Dubs responded with humor after a netizen suggested replacing him as co-host of the hit podcast Dogshow Divas following his recent absences from the show.
The discussion began after several episodes featured Joy Barcoma as a temporary co-host alongside Baus Rufo while Macoy attended to other work commitments.
On Facebook, Macoy reposted the comment and jokingly addressed the suggestion.
“HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Don’t worry sis, one year lang kontrata ko. Ang hirap pag absent. Sorry na. Pero yes, more flavors, more fun. Give ko ‘yan sa’yo Redditor. Mabait ako eh.”
The content creator clarified that his absence was due to his busy schedule and said he found it amusing that some viewers were trying to create issues between him and his co-host.
“Natatawa kasi ako na ginagawan niyo kami ng issue ng sissy ko, eh parehas kaming busy at inaabot ang mga bituin para sa careers namin.”
He also reminded supporters that genuine fans should wish everyone involved in the podcast well instead of pitting the hosts against one another.
“Ano man maging tahakin ng DSD, support lang kayo, dahil ang totoong taga-supporta, hindi magwi-wish ng hindi maganda.”
Macoy likewise urged viewers not to direct negativity toward the show’s guest hosts.
“Guys, dinodogshow ko si Redditor sa post na ‘to. Huwag kayo mag ill-will sa guest hosts. Ang akin, kung talagang supporter kayo, mag-wish ng maganda sa lahat.”
The conversation stemmed from a Reddit post in which a viewer praised Joy’s chemistry with Baus and suggested making her the podcast’s permanent co-host.
Joy, however, quickly dismissed the idea, emphasizing that she had no intention of replacing Macoy.
“I was never meant to replace Mama Macoy. Iisa lang ‘yan siya and sila ang OG Dogshow Divas.”
She also criticized comments that compare personalities at the expense of others.
“People are way too comfortable bringing other people down. Sana masaya kayo sa life and career because we (Baus, Macoy, Tuesday Vargas) all are.”
Baus also expressed his support for Macoy, saying that criticism directed at one host while praising another was equally problematic.
“Love you. Hate directed to any of us disguised as support for the others is equally problematic.”
In a separate Facebook post, Baus acknowledged Macoy’s contributions behind the scenes despite his demanding schedule.
“Mahal kita, sis. Never nilang makikita how involved you are sa operations kahit nasa taping ka.”
