Plantation Bay Resort and Spa celebrated its 30th anniversary with a festive beachfront celebration that honored its Cebuano heritage, employees, and three decades of world-class hospitality.

Held on July 16 at the resort’s picturesque Galapagos Beach in Mactan, Cebu, the anniversary gathering brought together guests, business partners, members of the media, and notable personalities for an evening of entertainment, local cuisine, and gratitude.
The celebration was led by resort owner Manny Gonzalez and attended by former Cebu governor Gwendolyn Garcia, celebrity couple Kaye Abad and Paul Jake Castillo, along with other distinguished guests.

The evening opened with a heartfelt video presentation featuring former Plantation Bay employees now working in different parts of the world. In their recorded messages, they looked back on their years at the resort and expressed gratitude for the skills, values, and experiences they gained, describing Plantation Bay as the foundation of their careers. Their stories underscored the resort’s long-standing commitment not only to guest service but also to developing hospitality professionals who have gone on to succeed internationally.
The tribute to employees continued through performances by current staff members, who showcased their talents in singing and dancing. Their polished performances reflected the vibrant culture within the resort and highlighted the passion and dedication of the people behind Plantation Bay’s operations.
Throughout the evening, guests were treated to an array of Cebuano-inspired cuisine while enjoying musical and cultural performances that transformed Galapagos Beach into a lively seaside festival. The program celebrated not only the resort’s luxury offerings but also its deep connection to local culture and community.
The festivities culminated in an extended fireworks display that illuminated the Mactan skyline, providing a memorable finale to the milestone celebration. The colorful spectacle, paired with live entertainment and the beachside setting, became one of the evening’s most memorable highlights.
The anniversary festivities, however, began even before the main celebration. A day earlier, Plantation Bay hosted a special appreciation event dedicated exclusively to its employees, recognizing the people whose commitment and service have helped shape the resort over the past three decades.

LionhearTV‘s RAWRTrip was among the media organizations invited to witness the milestone celebration in Cebu.
