Vice Ganda earned positive reactions online after expressing admiration for veteran broadcast journalist Jessica Soho during a recent episode of ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’.
The moment happened during the noontime show’s ‘Laro, Laro, Pick’ segment when Vice asked a contestant who his favorite broadcaster or journalist was.
The contestant, identified as Jelo, immediately answered that his biggest idol is Jessica Soho.
Vice responded with praise for the multi-awarded journalist.
“Yes! We love Jessica Soho. She’s very good.”
The contestant explained that he regularly watches Soho’s long-running magazine program Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho because it features relevant and timely stories.
Vice agreed, saying: “Ah uso, nakakasabay sa panahon, ‘di ba? We all watch KMJS. Right, very good. Malay mo balang araw.”
The exchange quickly caught the attention of netizens, with some interpreting Vice’s remarks as another gesture of admiration toward Soho years after their widely discussed controversy.
The two personalities previously figured in a public issue after Vice received criticism for making rape and fat-shaming jokes involving Soho during one of his comedy performances. The comedian later apologized for the remarks.
