Vice Ganda revealed that he declined an invitation to be featured in Star City’s Startista Gallery, joking that he did not want to end up with a wax figure that failed to resemble him.
The revelation came during a recent episode of ‘It’s Showtime’, after a ‘Miss Q & A’ contestant told the Unkabogable Star that he looked like a wax figure from Madame Tussauds.
“Actually, Meme, I’m starstrucked. Para akong nasa Madame Tussauds. Mukha kang manika… legit ha!”
Vice immediately responded with his trademark humor.
“‘Di ba, wax-wax ‘yon? Madame Tussauds… hindi ako kamukha no’ng nasa Star City, ha?! Ayoko no’n!”
He then turned to co-hosts Vhong Navarro and Jhong Hilario, reminding them that they should be thankful he backed out of the project.
“Oh, ‘di ba nagpapasalamat kayo sa akin na hindi ako tumuloy?!”
According to Vhong, he and Jhong were also supposed to be part of the attraction. However, after learning that Vice had declined the offer, they decided not to push through with it as well.
Vice even joked that had Vhong agreed to join, his statue might have gone viral for the same reasons.
The lighthearted exchange referenced the controversy surrounding several figures displayed at Startista Gallery, which drew widespread attention on social media after many netizens pointed out that some of the celebrity statues did not closely resemble their real-life counterparts.
