Actor Archie Alemania maintained that he has never sexually harassed or touched anyone without consent as he spoke publicly about the controversy involving actress-singer Rita Daniela.
Alemania addressed the issue during the August 23 episode of ‘Ogie Diaz Inspires,’ marking his first interview following the controversy.
During the conversation, Ogie Diaz brought up Alemania’s public image, including his past relationships and the sexually suggestive characters he portrayed on the long-running comedy show ‘Bubble Gang.’
Alemania said he takes it as a compliment when viewers associate him with the characters he plays because it suggests that his performances are convincing. However, he stressed that his on-screen persona does not reflect who he is in real life.
“Hindi po ako ‘yon. Trabaho lang po ‘yon,” Alemania said.
Diaz then directly asked the actor whether he was capable of doing what Daniela had accused him of.
“Hindi ko kayang gawin ‘yon,” Alemania responded.
“Sa tinatagal-tagal ko sa showbiz, sa dinami-dami ng chicks ko, sa dinami-dami ng babae ko, never po akong nangmanyak,” he added.
Alemania stressed that any intimate encounter should involve mutual consent.
“Kailangan mutual consent ‘yan, e, para may mangyari sa inyo. Pero never kong ginawa kahit kanino ‘yon, kahit no’ng nambababae ako,” he said.
His statements come despite his conviction in October 2025 in connection with the acts of lasciviousness case filed against him by Daniela under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code.
The case stemmed from an alleged incident in September 2024 after Alemania reportedly offered to bring Daniela home.
During the same interview, Alemania also opened up about his role as a husband and father following the controversies surrounding his personal life.
Diaz jokingly questioned when he could describe Alemania as a “dakilang asawa” considering the issues that had been associated with the actor.
“Ako, I believe, dakila akong asawa,” Alemania replied.
He claimed that after getting married, he became committed to his family.
“Kasi no’ng nagpakasal ako, as in wala talaga, walang kalokohan. Siya lang talaga. Time and effort [para sa] pamilya ko,” he said.
“Everything that I have is for them, and everything that I do is for them. ‘Yon ‘yong para sa akin. So masasabi ko, and I believe, from the bottom of my heart, I am a good father and good husband.”
Alemania has four children from different relationships. Two are from previous non-showbiz relationships, another is with actress Mickey Ferriols, while his youngest is with his former wife, Gee Canlas.
