Daniel Padilla has once again used his social media platform to draw attention to an environmental concern, this time highlighting the massive amount of garbage that accumulated in a Parañaque waterway following heavy rains and flooding.

The Kapamilya actor recently reposted on his Instagram Story a video showing the alarming garbage situation, bringing further attention to concerns over waste disposal and its impact on waterways and flooding in Metro Manila.
The video shared by Padilla came from Filipino media platform Filipino in the 6ix and discussed the hundreds of tons of garbage that reportedly ended up in the Redemptorist Water Channel in Parañaque City.
“Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon declared a ‘garbage crisis’ after heavy monsoon rains washed more than 500 tons of trash into the Redemptorist Water Channel in Parañaque City. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. described the situation as critical, as waste continues to clog waterways connected to Manila Bay and worsen flooding during heavy rains,” read the text accompanying the video reposted by Padilla.
The actor did not add a lengthy statement to the Instagram Story, but his decision to amplify the video caught the attention of netizens amid renewed conversations about proper waste disposal, environmental responsibility and the government’s efforts to address flooding.
Padilla’s post came shortly after he returned to Metro Manila from Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, where he spent nearly two weeks filming the sequel to the hit action series ‘Incognito.’
He arrived back in Manila on Wednesday alongside Kaila Estrada, with supporters of their ‘KaiNiel’ tandem waiting for them at the airport.
Padilla is among the returning stars of ‘Incognito 2,’ alongside Estrada, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings and Ian Veneracion. Carlo Aquino and Jane Oineza have also been spotted with the cast during filming in Tawi-Tawi.
Beyond his entertainment projects, Padilla has occasionally used his social media presence to amplify issues involving the environment and other matters of public concern.
