Actor, television host, and entrepreneur Dingdong Dantes shared that his family continues to practice simple, energy-saving habits at home, revealing that they still sleep in one room—not only to reduce electricity consumption, but more importantly to spend quality time together.

Speaking during the launch of MARSTEK Philippines, where he was introduced as the company’s newest brand ambassador on July 29, Dingdong said rising electricity costs have encouraged many Filipino families, including his own, to become more conscious of their household energy consumption.
“We all want to think of ways on how to save, lalo na sa monthly bills or anumang gastusin.”
The The Master Cutter actor said his family makes a conscious effort to use electricity more efficiently by switching off appliances that are not in use and adopting practical habits that help lower their monthly expenses.
“Pwede kang maging efficient pero may kailangan kang gawin—papatayin mo ‘yan, hindi mo gagamitin ‘yung ganito.”
He also shared one of their family’s traditions that has remained unchanged over the years.
“Hanggang ngayon, we like sleeping in one room. Pero again, hindi lang dahil sa gusto naming makatipid. Gusto naming makasama ang isa’t isa.”
Beyond conserving electricity, Dingdong revealed that his family has also invested in renewable energy by installing solar panels at home. He explained that finding long-term solutions to reduce household expenses while preparing for future challenges has become one of his priorities as a husband and father.
“Malaking bagay din as the head of the family to think of ways on how to make things efficient and easy for the household, how to make things reliable and future-proof.”

The partnership with MARSTEK Philippines, an AI-powered energy storage brand, reflects those values. The company offers home energy storage systems, portable power stations, and power banks designed to help households manage rising electricity costs while providing backup power during outages and emergencies.
According to Dr. Mary C. Cruz, Chief Executive Officer of MARSTEK Philippines and Founder and CEO of ZK Summit Holdings Inc., Dingdong was chosen as the brand’s ambassador because of the credibility, leadership, and public trust he has earned throughout his career.
As part of the collaboration, Dingdong revealed that a MARSTEK MARS 1 3-Phase energy storage system is currently being installed in his own residence. The system is designed to provide whole-home backup power and help ensure uninterrupted electricity during outages.
For Dingdong, preparedness goes beyond saving on electricity bills. He emphasized that reliable backup power has become increasingly important for modern families, whose daily activities—from work and online learning to communication and household routines—depend heavily on electricity.
