Award-winning actor and ‘Y Speak’ host Elijah Canlas drew attention online after sharing photos from his visit to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

On Sunday evening, August 23, Canlas posted photos on his X account showing himself outside the ICC headquarters during his trip to the Netherlands.
“bagong tourist spot sa netherlands,” Canlas captioned the post.
One of the photos also showed a portable toilet reportedly being used by Filipinos who gather along the area dubbed “Duterte Street” to express their support for former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte is currently being held at the ICC detention center in The Hague in connection with crimes against humanity charges arising from his administration’s controversial anti-drug campaign.
Canlas’ brief but pointed caption quickly caught the attention of netizens, with several interpreting the post as a jab at Duterte and his supporters.
“naku tuwang-tuwa na naman ang mga DDS niyan hahaha,” one netizen commented.
Another wrote, “atleast ikaw makakauwi pa ring pinas, ewan ko lang sa isa diyan.”
“bakit nandiyan ka? naku maraming magagalit sa ‘yo haha,” another social media user said.
One netizen also commented, “Nice one! I-trigger mo pa ang mga DDS…masyado na kasi silang kinain ng kabobohan haha.”
Canlas, however, did not elaborate on the political meaning, if any, behind his caption or his visit to the ICC.
