‘Pepito Manaloto’, ‘KMJS’ maintain back-to-back weekend ratings board leadership

GMA Network continued to dominate the weekend television ratings, with ‘Pepito Manaloto’ taking the top spot on Saturday while ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho’ (KMJS) remained the leading program on Sunday.

Based on the latest ratings report from the Nielsen NUTAM survey, ‘Pepito Manaloto’ and KMJS emerged as the top-performing programs across the weekend, reinforcing GMA Network’s stronghold over the overall television ratings chart.

On Saturday, August 1, the Kapuso sitcom ‘Pepito Manaloto’ led all programs after recording a 7.2 percent rating. It was followed by GMA’s long-running drama anthology ‘Magpakailanman,’ which posted a 5.9 percent rating. ‘Born To Shine’ secured the third spot with 5.7 percent, while ‘The People Have Spoken’ and ‘24 Oras’ tied for fourth place with 5.2 percent each. Rounding out the Saturday top five was ‘It’s Showtime,’ which registered a 5.0 percent rating.

Meanwhile, KMJS once again dominated the Sunday ratings chart on August 2, recording a commanding 12.1 percent rating. The long-running magazine-documentary program was the only weekend program to breach the double-digit mark, putting considerable distance between itself and the rest of the competition.

‘The Clash Teens’ followed KMJS in second place with a 7.6 percent rating, while ‘24 Oras Weekend’ landed in third with 7.3 percent. The longest-running Filipino gag show ‘BBLGANG’ took the fourth spot after registering a 6.2% rating, while ‘FPJ sa GMA’ completed the top five with 5.3 percent.

With ‘Pepito Manaloto’ and KMJS leading their respective days, GMA Network once again demonstrated its strength in the weekend ratings race. The network continued to occupy most of the top positions, highlighting the enduring popularity of its Kapuso programs among Filipino television viewers.

However, despite GMA Network’s continued dominance, the significantly low rating figures are also worth noting. The numbers are significantly lower compared with the ratings recorded by major television programs during the peak years of traditional free-to-air television.
