Vice Ganda once again reminded Filipinos of the importance of making responsible and informed choices when electing government officials, amid the continuing flooding and other problems brought by heavy rains and storms.

During the August 18 episode of ‘It’s Showtime,’ the Unkabogable Superstar stressed that voters play a significant role in determining the country’s future through their choices during elections.
“Bumoto tayo nang maayos. Bumoto tayo nang tama,” Vice said.
She pointed out that the decisions made during elections can have consequences on the problems Filipinos eventually face, including disasters and flooding.
“Alam ninyo, yung mga binabaha, di ba? Marami diyang binaha na kaya kayo binaha kasi yung tuyong bahay ninyo bumenta ninyo ng 5,000 nung eleksyon.
“Di ba? Sa ₱5,000, pumayag kayong pasukin ang bahay ninyo. No Filipino deserves that—yung masalanta ng bagyo,” she said.
Vice did not mention any particular candidate or political figure. Instead, she encouraged voters to be more discerning when choosing the people they will put in public office.
She emphasized that making the right choices at the ballot box is connected to finding solutions to the country’s long-standing problems.
Meanwhile, the August 18 episode of ‘It’s Showtime’ also welcomed college students from Pasay City whose classes were suspended due to the inclement weather.
Vice, Karylle, and Ogie Alcasid interacted with the students during the ‘Laro Laro Pick’ game arena. While getting to know the young guests, Vice observed what she felt was a diminishing sense of curiosity among young people.
She encouraged the students to remain curious about the world around them and continue expanding their knowledge, reminding them that life extends beyond what appears on their social media feeds.
According to Vice, young people should not allow social media algorithms to define their world because they will eventually have to face the “real world,” where accumulated knowledge—not their FYP—will help them navigate challenges.
Vice also took on the role of an instant professor during a lesson on Speech 101, teaching the students the proper pronunciation of several English words.
The episode also featured entertaining moments during ‘You Gotta Lyric,’ including a scene between Jackie Gonzaga and Cianne Dominguez that took an unexpected turn.
“I love the plot twist!” Vice quipped after Jackie suddenly transformed in the middle of the scene.
In the jackpot round, Business Administration student Zie reached the P250,000 POT question but failed to correctly answer, “Anong instrumento ang ginagamit sa pagsukat ng bilis ng hangin?”
Despite missing the jackpot, Zie did not leave empty-handed as Vice gave her P5,000 in assistance.
‘It’s Showtime’ airs Monday to Saturday at 12 noon on ABS-CBN via ALLTV2, GMA 7, A2Z, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWant.
