‘TV Patrol’ news anchor Zen Hernandez has finally addressed the attention surrounding her and Kapuso broadcast journalist Atom Araullo, whose rumored relationship continues to intrigue netizens.
During a recent episode of the digital talk show ‘Oh My Gan!’ hosted by Ganiel Krishnan, Hernandez was initially asked about her love for traveling and the destination she still hopes to visit after having traveled to more than 30 countries.
“’Yong last trip ko kasi sa South America was Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia. Pero originally, kasi Chile ‘yon. Ang tagal ng visa, di umabot. So gusto kong ituloy ‘yong Chile,” Hernandez shared.
Krishnan then asked whom she would want to bring on the trip.
“‘Yong travel buddy ko, ‘yong GPS ko. ‘Yong kasama ko lagi,” Hernandez replied.
She explained that having a travel companion helps because navigating is not exactly her strongest suit. Planning trips, however, is something she does well.
“I’m good in planning. So I can plan itinerary. Sobrang smoothly,” she added.
Hernandez did not identify the “travel buddy” she was referring to, prompting the conversation to eventually shift to Araullo.
Krishnan noted how netizens have been actively shipping the two journalists, with some even creating social media edits featuring clips of them reporting and appearing at different events.
“Ang dami ring nagsi-ship sa inyo [ni Atom] on social media. People are doing edits na magkasama kayo, reporting this, reporting that. […] How do you feel about that, of course?” Krishnan asked.
Hernandez appeared unfazed by the attention.
“Okay lang,” she responded.
The ABS-CBN journalist said she understands that “love teams” have become common even for personalities working in news and current affairs.
“Uso yata ‘yon ngayon, e. Mga loveteams. So kahit nasa broadcasting ka, nasa news ka, kasama ka na rin. Okay lang. It’s really part of the job,” Hernandez said.
Rather than being bothered by the speculation, she admitted that she finds the public’s interest amusing.
“Nakakaaliw din ‘yong mga tao, ‘yong level of the interest nila. Wala naman akong isyu sa kanila,” she added.
Despite persistent speculation, neither Hernandez nor Araullo has publicly confirmed that they are in a relationship.
Araullo, however, confirmed during a November 2025 appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” that he had been in a relationship for quite some time.
“Matagal na. How many years? See, we don’t even count, it’s been a while,” Araullo revealed.
The Kapuso journalist did not disclose the identity of his partner.
