Comedy Queen AiAi delas Alas said she was not surprised by the reported remarriage of her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan to his non-showbiz partner in the United States.
In a statement shared on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,’ the actress-comedienne said she had already expected Sibayan to eventually remarry following their separation.
“Alam naman natin na mangyayari ‘yan. Expected ko na ‘yan nu’ng hiniwalayan niya ako. Kailangan niya na mag-stay sa Amerika kaya kailangan niya na magpakasal,” AiAi said.
She then had one wish for her former husband: “Sana lang, huwag niyang gawin sa iba ang ginawa niya sa akin.”
Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz earlier reported that Sibayan married his non-showbiz girlfriend, identified as Nadine, in a civil ceremony at San Francisco City Hall.
“Wala kaming masyadong detalye dito. Pero ang sigurado, ikinasal na si Gerald Sibayan sa non-showbiz girlfriend nitong ang pangalan ay Nadine sa San Francisco City Hall sa USA,” Diaz said.
“Sa ngayon si Gerald ay naninirahan sa US kasama ang bago nitong asawa,” he added.
AiAi, however, appeared to be taking the news lightly and said she would rather let her former husband live his life.
“Hayaan na natin siya. At least, naka-suit siya, hindi naka-polo lang. Basta ang alam ko, English speaking ang babae na pinakasalan niya kasi isang buwan bago ako iniwan ni Gerald, Ingles na rin ang pakikipag-usap niya sa akin,” she quipped.
Following news of the wedding, AiAi also took to Instagram to assure her supporters that she was doing well.
“Ok po ako …I wish him well…salamat sa lahat ng mga support nyo noon hanggang ngayon. Lets all move forward. God bless po,” she wrote.
She later thanked those who continued to send her messages of love and support.
“Maraming salamat sa walang sawa na pagmamahal ninyo sa akin mula noon hanggang ngayon. Wala po kayong dapat ipag-alala,” AiAi said.
“Okay na okay po ako, sa tulong ni Lord at ni Mama Mary. Huwag na po kayong magpaapekto sa pagpapakasal niya dahil hindi naman po ako apektado.”
“Matagal na po akong moving forward.”
AiAi confirmed her separation from Sibayan in 2024 after 10 years together. Their split subsequently became controversial as the comedienne publicly discussed the circumstances surrounding the end of their marriage.
Following their separation, AiAi also sought the revocation of the green card petition she had filed for Sibayan.
Their divorce was eventually approved in March 2026.
In February 2026, AiAi revealed that she had already forgiven her former husband, signaling that she was ready to leave their painful separation behind.
